Getting Started
How do I add a caffeine entry? Tap the “+” button on the home screen to open the Add Caffeine screen. Select your beverage type, adjust the serving size if needed, and tap “Add” to log your intake.
Where is my data stored? All your data is stored locally on your device. We do not collect, transmit, or store any of your personal information on external servers. Your privacy is completely protected.
Do I need to create an account? No! Caffeine Counter works immediately after installation with no sign-up required. Just download and start tracking.
Tracking Your Caffeine
What beverages can I track? You can track a wide variety of caffeinated beverages including:
- Coffee (espresso, drip, cold brew, etc.)
- Tea (black, green, white, etc.)
- Energy drinks
- Soft drinks
- Chocolate and cocoa
- Custom beverages
How accurate are the caffeine amounts? Our caffeine values are based on USDA data and industry standards. Actual caffeine content may vary by brand, preparation method, and serving size. You can adjust amounts when logging to match your specific beverage.
Can I edit or delete an entry? Yes! Swipe left on any entry in your history to delete it. You can also tap on an entry to view details.
What’s the recommended daily caffeine limit? Health experts generally recommend limiting caffeine intake to 400mg per day for most healthy adults. The app will show you warnings if you exceed recommended limits.
Statistics & Insights
How are my statistics calculated? Statistics are calculated from your logged entries:
- Daily: Sum of all entries for the current day
- Weekly: Average daily intake over the past 7 days
- Monthly: Total and average over the past 30 days
What are streaks? Streaks track consecutive days you’ve stayed within your caffeine goal. This helps you build healthy habits over time.
How do insights work? The app analyzes your consumption patterns to provide personalized insights about your caffeine habits, peak consumption times, and trends.
Premium Features
What’s included in Premium Analytics? Premium Analytics ($9.99/year) includes:
- Extended history (unlimited vs. 7 days)
- Advanced charts and visualizations
- Detailed weekly and monthly reports
- Trend analysis and predictions
- Export your data
How do I upgrade to Premium? Tap “Upgrade Now” in the Statistics screen to view Premium options and complete your purchase.
How do I restore my purchase? If you’ve previously purchased Premium, tap “Restore Purchases” in the Premium section to restore your subscription on your current device.
Can I get a refund? All purchases are handled through Apple. To request a refund, visit reportaproblem.apple.com and follow Apple’s refund process.
Troubleshooting
My data disappeared! Data is stored locally on your device. If you’ve deleted and reinstalled the app, or restored your device without a backup, your data may not be recoverable. We recommend using iCloud backup to protect your device data.
The app is crashing Try these steps:
- Force quit the app and reopen it
- Restart your device
- Check for app updates in the App Store
- Delete and reinstall the app (note: this will delete your data)
Notifications aren’t working Make sure notifications are enabled:
- Open Settings on your device
- Scroll to Caffeine Counter
- Tap Notifications
- Enable “Allow Notifications”
The app is using too much battery Caffeine Counter is designed to be lightweight and should have minimal impact on battery life. If you notice unusual battery drain, try force quitting the app and reopening it.
Privacy Policy
Data Collection: Caffeine Counter does not collect any personal data. All information you enter is stored locally on your device and is never transmitted to external servers.
Third-Party Services: We do not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services.
Data Sharing: We do not share any data with third parties because we don’t collect any data.
Your Control: You have complete control over your data. Delete the app to remove all stored data from your device.
